New BASpi-IO with Analog Outputs

BASpiThe wait is over! Our new BASpi-IO AO2 daughterboard is here. The BASpi-IO daughterboard (HAT) is a 12-point expansion board for Raspberry Pi 3 or 4. Two models exist and differ only in the makeup of their outputs. The new AO2 model offers more flexibility in applications where analog outputs are required. It has 6 universal inputs configurable for: analog input (0-10V), binary input, resistance (1Kohm – 100Kohm), thermistor (10KT2, 10KT3, 20K), pulse input (40Hz max), 4 relay outputs (30VAC/VDC, 2A max), and 2 analog outputs (0-10V). In addition to this new board release, we are also introducing two new firmware features for both BASpi models – email alarms/notifications triggered by Sedona logic and web page configurable schedule with exceptions/holidays triggering Sedona logic.

Contemporary Controls BASpi-IO products are not just for hobbyists but are truly open controllers built on both open software and open hardware. Using the latest micro PCs with resident control and communication software, these products allow users to create next generation control applications. The BASpi series packs a punch by supporting industry standard protocols such as BACnet, graphical control wire sheet applications created in Sedona, web page configuration, as well as Ethernet and Wi-Fi communication. In addition, the BASpi can run and interface with custom applications running right on board thanks to a REST API. The fun never ends with BASpi!

To create a controller, visit the BASpi-IO product page to purchase your BASpi-IO board of choice, then download the correct free firmware file to burn on a microSD card that you will install into your Raspberry Pi 3 or 4. Mount one of the BASpi-IO hats on top of the Raspberry Pi, power it up, and you have a 12-point BACnet/IP connected Sedona controller.
