Honeywell Momentum 2018

Contemporary Controls is proud to be a sponsor of Honeywell Momentum 2018, October 21-23 in Orlando, Florida. The conference, themed You've Got Connections, provides the opportunity for more than 300 distributors, contractors, sponsors and staff to evaluate top trends in the building automation industry and participate in training workshops.

At a Momentum conference, we know there will be plenty of Spyder fans, so we'll be sure to have copies of our application guide that explains how our BASrouter provides a simple, cost-effective method for attaching Honeywell Spyder BACnet MS/TP controllers to BACnet/IP without the need of a building controller.

Installing and operating the BASrouter with several Honeywell Spyder controllers is simple and straightforward. Once the BASrouter is properly installed and configured, all the connected Spyder controllers can be accessible from BACnet/IP.

Our focus is bringing devices up to IP networks so BACnet/IP is very important to us. In addition to the BASrouter, we'll also showcase our BASgatewayLX, which makes it easy to integrate Modbus RTU to BACnet/IP because we provide the necessary device profiles. You just check-off the points you want. Once up on BACnet/IP, our managed and unmanaged Ethernet switches can complete the installation. They were designed to co-exist in the control panel with other 24 VAC control equipment.

For system integrators interested in secure remote access, we'll explain our RemoteVPN service that allows remote access to systems from the convenience of the systems integrator's home or office. A cloud-based VPN server hosted by Contemporary Controls provides the critical connection between two VPN clients-one installed on the systems integrator's PC and the other permanently installed on Contemporary Controls' VPN router located at the remote location. Using this approach, two secure VPN tunnels are created with no concern for intervening firewalls.

Once on Ethernet, our CTRLink family — with its collection of managed and unmanaged switches, media converters, wired and wireless IP routers — can complete the connectivity process. The CTRlink family also includes PoE devices including the injector, splitter and managed/unmanaged switches. Our managed switches provide features such as Spanning Tree (STP), Rapid Spanning Tree (RSTP), VLAN, QoS, SNMP, fault relay, port mirroring, port security and simple web page configuration. UL 864 10th Edition switches are certified to be used in Fire Signaling and Mass Notification systems and are certified as a recognized component.

"A lot of our customers attend Momentum, so the conference is a good chance for us to interact with them and hear about their experiences in the field," said Joe Stasiek, Sales Manager at Contemporary Controls. "Our customers' experiences and comments become the basis for our future products, so if you're at the show, be sure to say hello and tell us how you are doing."
